During the months of June, July and August, the team of technicians that make up ROBOPLAN's After-Sales Department provided preventive maintenance services to more than 25 customers, thus representing a universe of more than 200 robots.
Taking advantage of production stops, companies consider this to be the ideal season to assess the state of equipment related to manufacturing processes and to consequently carry out preventive maintenance.
Maintaining and preventing are watchwords for companies such as Simoldes, Faurecia (Portugal and Spain), Eberspächer, Cerealis, Amorim Cork, Renova, Teka, Henfilgon or Efapel, which regularly use our services. All of which nominees have our NON-STOP maintenance contract active, thus gaining access to a number of advantages when compared to customers who have not yet subscribed to it.
For these companies, the annual preventive maintenance of the equipment is synonymous with guaranteeing the continuity of the high standards of productivity and reliability of robots, which are equipment that play an indispensable role in their manufacturing processes.
For Carlos Teixeira, robotics technician at ROBOPLAN for 9 years, “this summer period is hard, but simultaneously rewarding and represents a challenge, because it is physically demanding, but also we are pleased to see that our customers recognize the quality of our services and the effort we make to meet the deadlines given to us”.
It is also in these interventions that are detected spares that may be at the end of their life, promoting their quick replacement and thus avoiding future stoppages in our customers manufacturing lines.
Our technician also states that “our main objective is total customer satisfaction and in that sense, we are grateful to see that year after year, thanks to the quality of the services we provide, the robots are kept in excellent working condition”.
For Miguel Tomás, Commercial Manager of the After-Sales Department, the most relevant and important thing to highlight is that “most customers with a NON-STOP maintenance contract make very little use of corrective maintenance services throughout the year, as preventive maintenance robots unequivocally reduces downtime and potential breakdown periods, with the overwhelming negative implications that these represent”.
The importance of preventive maintenance is also highlighted by the responsible “because we managed, in addition to promoting the good condition and operability of the robots, to identify small corrections to be made and detailed assessments of their global status, seeking, in conjunction with customers, to anticipate adapted preventive measures and customized to the context of equipment use. I even think that this is the most important process in terms of equipment maintenance, whether robots or any others used in an industrial environment”.
No less relevant has also been the ability that our team of technicians has had to adjust to the plans and deadlines given by customers for the execution of services, as "it is not always easy to make these adjustments to the calendar, as it's a lot of robots and the available resources are limited. However, we have managed to provide the services, without the need for rescheduling, which also makes us proud of our responsiveness and adequacy to the needs of our customers”.
It is therefore a reason to rejoice to see that the ROBOPLAN team over the years has shown the capacity to respond to the new challenges it has been facing, always responding efficiently and respecting the needs of its customers, even when there is a very significant increase in number of YASKAWA robots installed in the Portuguese and European market.
