Loading and Unloading of Machine Tools

Roboplan develops loading and unloading systems for machine tools, machining centres, lathes and other process equipment, with full integration into the shop floor.

Feeding machines and machining centres requires loading and unloading parts, sometimes with heavy weights, in continuous and stabilised production with demanding cycle times.

The load capacity of the robot and its tool/gripper allows it to handle a wide variety of parts in limited spaces, and in addition, the robot can be enclosed in a cabin, facilitating the exhaustion of toxic gases and dust, thus limiting the operator's exposure to this type of environment.

Complete range & specialised engineering
Made up of extremely fast, robust and precise 4- and 6-axis robots, Yaskawa has a complete range to meet the most demanding needs of this type of application.

Each machine is associated with one or more product references, where handling is carried out directly on the part. For the parts to be loaded, unloaded and handled, interconnecting accessories are required, where the engineering team's ability to develop the best solution emphasises versatility and efficiency, sometimes requiring the use of tool change systems.

The versatility of robots allows them to be mounted in various positions in order to optimise space and in some applications it is possible to adapt the entire solution so that it feeds several machines. Mounted on a linear/track axis, the robot moves and thus feeds several machines, sometimes performing multitasking operations chained between machines.

In this type of application, typically in machining centres or plastic injection machines, the robot can work 24 hours a day synchronously with the machine it is feeding or unloading, making it an economical and cost-effective solution.

IP67 protection class
It is also under adverse conditions such as humid or dusty environments that robots usually work in this type of application. In order to offer the best performance and to keep the working environment clean, Yaskawa offers robots with IP67 protection class.

These robots have protection on all their axes and a smooth surface that prevents corrosion and the accumulation of dust, filings or drops of water/fluids, even allowing them to be washed with water.

This type of complete solution, integrated with the highest standards of control and handling technology, is a speciality of our team. As well as resulting in solutions that increase productivity and the quality of finished products, they reduce the risk of faults and consequently the costs associated with the product.
