The company Tintas Robbialac, SA is a reference company in the paint sector and has 2 Yaskawa Motoman robots that are responsible for the palletizing process of paint cans.
“Robots mark our daily production cadence”, was how Artur Rendeiro, Production Manager at Tintas Robbialac SA, a reference brand in the paint sector, characterized the importance of Yaskawa Motoman robots, in a small conversation with our team.
Installed over 10 years ago, two Yaskawa Motoman robots, model ES165, are responsible for palletizing all the paint cans produced at the Robbialac production unit in São João da Talha. This brand, which develops its activity in four major business areas: Decorative Paints, Thermal Insulation, Protection and Maintenance and Automotive Refinishing, has, for over a decade, decided to automate its can palletizing process.
Specific and suitable for each type of packaging, in two shifts of 8 hours per day, the robots palletize around 2000 15L cans, and can palletize around 10,000 cans, in the case of 1L packages.
For these robots that are more than 10 years old “every little care is needed” because we are facing a production line where “the level of downtime has to be minimal”.
With regular frequency (every 2 years), Robbialac used Roboplan's services to carry out Preventive Maintenance and occasionally in cases of corrective maintenance. As a result of the robots' age and the increase in shifts that lead to a longer period of activity and demand for them, Robbialac decided to go ahead with the NON-STOP maintenance contract, which, for Artur Rendeiro, gives him “more guarantees and comfort than the breakdowns don't happen with any frequency”. This contract will allow annual preventive maintenance to be carried out, as well as offering some discounts on parts and consumables and having priority assistance in case of breakdowns, all with a payment plan adjusted to the customer's needs.
Robbialac's Production Manager states that “there is a certain concern in having the robots always operational” and for that to happen “Preventive Maintenance is very important”, highlighting the importance of these services to maintain the reliability of the equipment.
In the end, he highlighted "the very frank commercial relationship" existing between the parties and also advised all users of Yaskawa Motoman robots to sign the NON-STOP Maintenance Contract, not only for all the advantages that preventive maintenance provides, but also for “the confidence he has in the Roboplan team”.
